Wills Domain in Western Australia’s world renowned Margaret River wine region, is home to the Haunold family, father to son vignerons since 1383.

Their vineyards sit on top of the rolling hills with steep, sun-drenched northern and western slopes high above the Indian Ocean. The calming maritime influences combined with the sites elevation and ancient red gravel soils form a vine terroir that is the envy of Australia.

mystic spring

Part of the Haunold family folklore is the story of a mystic spring and a massive mountain. A young Haunold grew into a huge giant after drinking from a miraculous spring in Northern Italy. When threatened with invasion, the villagers pleaded to the giant for help. In exchange, Haunold demanded one calf, three bushels of beans and one barrel of wine per day! Over time, not being able to maintain these payments, the villagers set a trap and captured him. As the legend goes, the giant Haunold still sleeps, imprisoned in the mountain that still bears his name.

Eightfold

The 'Eightfold' series of wines celebrates the fact that winemaking really runs in their blood. The family continue as generational vignerons in Margaret River, on vines planted in 1985, establishing Wills Domain vineyards, winery and restaurant.

Paladin hill

The 'Paladin Hill' series of wines exemplify Wills Domain’s aspiration to achieving the pinnacle of winemaking with their winemakers as leading champions of this noble cause and craft. We took inspiration from the terraced vineyard rows and trellises forming a distinct criss-cross pattern.

Cuvée d'Elevage

Cuvée d'Elevage refers to the Wills Domain most prodigious sparkling wines. Élevage describes the evolution of a wine, from its raw unfermented state and the journey it makes to its sophisticated, refined end.
