As special gifts, Yalumba created an eponymous ‘Y’ Barossa Shiraz. Using their ‘Y’ logo as the starting point, various Y devices were created to express aspects of Yalumba’s brand personality and culture. So ‘our Yalumba Shiraz’ becomes ‘your Yalumba Shiraz’ upon the act of giving. Each bottle sports two different Y devices - front and back - silkscreened onto the bottles, with all the wine information contained on the neck-wrap and on the neck tag.
We went back through the Yalumba archives and museum and found inspiration from previous iterations of the Yalumba logo, particularly one that featured on an old timber wine box. The result was a heritage script logotype that referenced their rich history, appearing as the ‘signature’ on the neck tags and embossed across the accompanying gift bags.
